Welcome to the GFWC Powhatan Junior Woman’s Club website, your connections to all things PJWC. The Powhatan Juniors are a wonderful group of women who are interested in fellowship as well as serving our community, state and country. We participate in various fundraisers and activities throughout the year. Our largest fundraiser of each year is to host an Annual Holiday Gift Harvest. This is a craft show held at the Powhatan United Methodist Church. I’m sure many of you have attended and know what a success it is each year! It’s also a TON of fun!
If you are like me, at one point I was new to the community. After having grown up in Northern Virginia and then having lived in the West End, rural live was a big adjustment! I found it hard to make friends and find my place in the county. But then, I was invited to attend a meeting by a friend I had met at a scrapbooking event. On my first night among the members I knew I wanted to be a part of what they did! As soon as I was able to join I was in and I have never looked back.
I have really enjoyed my club work thus far and have had many, many opportunities for leadership development. Of course one of my FAVORITE parts of being a part of this group is the membership!!! We have such loving and motivated ladies! We all genuinely care about each other but are ready to welcome new members. This isn’t a “clique”. We don’t discriminate and are not affiliated with any political party or religious denomination.
Please take the time to look over our website and contact us if you would like to attend a meeting. We will be getting together over the summer and would love to have you attend any social event we may have planned. Don’t ever feel like you have to wait until September to get involved!
We look forward to hearing from you!
